The Radial J48 is a premium active direct box designed for live sound and studio work, known for providing very high headroom and preserving the natural tone of instruments. It runs on 48‑volt phantom power and uses a unique switching power supply that boosts internal rail voltage to 9 volts, giving it much more room to handle loud transients from active basses, acoustic guitars, keyboards, and drum modules without clipping or choking.  The J48 includes useful features like a ‑15 dB pad, 80 Hz low‑cut filter, merge switch for summing stereo outputs to mono, polarity reverse, and a ground lift.
