PCE helps raise millions for charity at the 2023 CHOC Gala!
This May, PCE once again had the honor of participating in the annual CHOC (Children's Hospital of Orange County) Gala! Every year this star-studded event raises millions, helping fund the hospital's work for the rest of the year. The 2023 gala included a dinner, charity auction, and a night-capping concert featuring the legendary band Earth, Wind & Fire.
The biggest event of our year so far, we did a bit of everything at the 2023 CHOC Gala. We used a Stageline SAM575 (complete with fully covered wings and a loading dock) for the main stage, then rigged numerous lighting fixtures, including the Vari-Lite VL3600, Chauvet Color STRIKE M, GLP impression X4, MAC Allure Profile, and Elation Platinum Beam 5R. The sound system included JBL VTX line array speakers and a Yamaha CL5 console. And that's just the tip of the iceberg! Check out our event video for a closer look at the production.
At PCE, we take deep pride in supporting events that involve a cause as worthy as children's medicine. And, of course, we always love working with talent on the level of Earth, Wind & Fire! All in all, the night was a huge success and a wonderful experience for everyone involved.

PCE Team Spotlight: Richard Harrington
We have a new lead scheduler! Longtime industry vet Richard Harrington recently stepped into our Workforce Coordinator role, where he'll take the lead on assigning our roster of technicians to our numerous productions. Richard got his start in the events business in 2008, spending over a decade working as a Lighting Designer for numerous bands/musicians, including Hall & Oates. Richard has always loved seeing events go smoothly, and has enjoyed staffing PCE events in a way that makes our clients happy.
Apart from event work, Richard enjoys fishing, golfing, and anything outdoors (hiking, camping, off-roading—you name it). And if you want to know about smoking meats, Richard's your man. He's an expert when it comes to barbecue.
