Musical Theatre West's The Sound of Music

In fall 2023, Musical Theatre West produced the classic stage musical The Sound of Music. Directed by Wayne Bryan and starring Julianna Sloan and Jonathan von Mering in the lead roles, the production took place at The Carpenter Performing Arts Center in Long Beach.

Musical Theatre West relied on a PCE lighting rental package to put on the show. Due to the layout/design of The Carpenter Performing Arts Center, the lighting fixtures themselves are not actually visible in this video (nor were they visible to the audience during the production itself). The results, however, are on full display. This video offers a glimpse of what PCE lighting can do, from high-contrast effects-driven scenes to subtle character lighting in more intimate moments.
